Every Tuesday I recommend a fun tech tool, usually in the vein of educational technology (but not always!)
Google Jamboard is a digital whiteboard where you can collaborate with students, colleagues – whomever you wish! Google does sell an actual physical unit for Jamboard, but anyone can use the online digital version. You can free-hand write and erase, add sticky notes, images and text boxes for typing, and there’s even a laser pointer (the lines it creates disappear within a few seconds.) There is a limitation of 16 people on a single Jamboard at once, but you could divide people into smaller groups and let them have their own board.
You’ll need to have a Google account to create a Jamboard, but you can share a link to your board that let’s anyone access it so your participants don’t need an account. However, this means that everyone using it will be anonymous (represented by differently coloured animals so you can tell one participant’s contributions from another.) If you’d prefer to avoid anonymity, you’ll have to share your Jamboard by adding individuals’ email addresses so only they can access it (they won’t need a Google account will have to access it via the email notification they get.)
Have you used Google Jamboard? Let me know in the comments how! If you haven’t, what use do you see for it? And what challenges or limitations exist?
